Job Summary

The Sr Drill and Blast (D&B) Engineer is responsible for designing all drilling and blasting patterns in a safe and environmentally responsible manner that meet production objectives, tracking costs, and assisting with the budgeting process.

Job Description

Duties will include:

Visibly support and champion Peabody’s Missions and Values  Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System Short, medium and long term mine planning activities Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance Prepare drilling and blasting plans Monitor mine ventilation (if applicable) and provide other mine services Supervise mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements Other duties as assigned by the company

This position may require the necessity to work weekends, holidays, or another shift as deemed necessary.

About you:

Minimum of 3, preference of 5, years relevant professional experience. Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Ability to perform welding and maintenance tasks at varying heights. Knowledge of CRF30 and NEC. Knowledge of control systems on mobile mining equipment. Knowledge of high voltage equipment used in mining. Knowledge of MSHA regulations. Knowledge of electrical construction techniques. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day. Ability to work overtime as required by the Company. Ability to train others.
