Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for Logistics Specialist based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This job is about feeding the world through relationships and effective management of our trucking and rail logistics.

You will manage North American domestic transportation to ensure the products that our farmer customers need to grow their crops are delivered on time for the growing season at the best possible cost and in the most sustainable manner. You will be challenged with volatile customer demands, tight schedules, and daily decision making to optimally balance cost, service, and multiple stakeholders’ needs. You will do this by developing valued relationships with railroads, tank and dry van trucking companies, and our transportation management service partners. In addition, you will use data and analytics to make informed choices and risk-based decisions in collaboration with our customer service, commercial, and supply chain partners to constantly optimize and improve – making logistics a competitive advantage for Corteva.

The primary responsibility of the North American Logistics Specialist is to manage the cost and service performance of your transportation mode(s) and shipping lanes from order to delivery, while driving continuous improvement in compliance with industrial regulations. Responsibilities may also include fleet asset leases and maintenance operations and strategy. Detailed responsibilities include:

What You’ll Do:

Communication with suppliers, customers, and carriers to track and coordinate shipment schedules, while troubleshooting daily escalations. Lead short and long-term capacity planning, including fleet sizing Collaborate with supply chain planning organization and Distribution Requirements Planners (DRPs) to ensure transportation capacity availability and performance Partner with the Customer Service, Demand, and Sales and Marketing organizations to ensure the best customer logistics experience Data-driven performance management of carriers and third-party logistics partners Collaboration with logistics procurement and 3PLs to establish carrier strategy and supplier selection Cost planning and management, including expense monitoring and approval Identification of cost and service improvement opportunities and project leadership to drive change Engage and lead in new supply chain design and logistics work process strategy and implementation Ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate policies

Qualifications

Education:

BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field required

What Skills You Need:

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and analytical skills are required Experience in SAP/TMS technology performing transportation or logistics operations is favorable. 3 or more years of experience in transportation and logistics are preferred Strong communication skills & teamwork. Ability to establish strong networks, relationships and disciplined communication with key stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work and escalate when help is needed.
