Summary:
Vighter LLC is seeking a National Behavioral Health Advisor in San Antonio, TX. The National Behavioral Health Advisor will provide Operational Behavioral Bealth (BH) advice, support, and coordination to Sector leadership and CBP staff. The National Behavioral Health Advisor will advise, coordinate, and provide professional oversight of sector-wide behavioral health programing to promote employee wellness and to provide support to sector and or region assigned.
Principle Accountabilities:
Conduct behavioral health climate assessments to identify and address operational BH issues. Coordinate integration of sector wide BH programing to optimize access and utilization. Coordinate with Onsite Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Clinician(s), as needed. Provide professional direction, oversight, and consultation of BH support for staff and patients. Support Medical Quality Management process related to BH for staff and patients. Provide operational BH advice and coordination to Sector and Station level leadership regarding command level BH issues. Provide behavioral health education and training, awareness, and outreach to sector leadership regarding BH issues. Provide outreach, education, and awareness activities to CBP staff regarding BH issues. If staff require EAP clinical/counseling services, the BHA refers to the Onsite EAP Clinician. Travel to stations throughout the region to provide educational briefings on BH issues. Facilitate the integration of BH resources and services at the sector-level and the connection of staff to available resources and services to optimize utilization. Provide confidential consultation with staff regarding urgent BH issues that arise during the workday; to include providing debriefings in the aftermath of critical incidents. If future consultation is required for staff, a referral to EAP will be provided. Coordinate and integrate efforts with CBP Peer Support and Chaplain Programs, and other programs and stakeholders to facilitate bridging the gap. Knowledge and Skills:
Provides educational trainings to both staff and patients on relevant topics to include trauma informed care, psychological first aid, and other topics. Protect children from situations of abuse, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment while in the custody of CBP. Focus on ensuring the social, physical, psychological, and emotional well-being of unaccompanied, accompanied, and separated children.Education:
Candidate must have successfully completed a minimum of a master’s degree in counseling or another related field along with a completed practicum/internship hours from an accredited college or university. Completed any additional coursework required by your state licensing board to be licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Specialized training includes course work in, ethics, family dynamics, child development, poverty, and disadvantaged populations, minimally.Qualifications:
Certified by the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE) given by the National Board for Certified Counselors; licensed as a Licensed Practical Counselor. Qualifying experience for this position must include a combination of the following: expertise working with active-duty service members and their families, law enforcement; background in operational psychology, and expertise in the areas of domestic violence, alcohol abuse, suicide prevention, trauma informed care, psychological first aid, and motivational interviewing. Minimum three years of experiences as an LPC. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and in some cases, the use of their own vehicle to complete various work activities. Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
Generally speaking, the corporate office is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; however, during times of rapid mobilization, hours may be extended to include nights and weekends. Generally speaking, locations directly supporting the CBP-ICE mission set are open and active 24/7/365, to include days, nights, weekends and all holidays.
