JOB SUMMARY
This job is responsible for setting the strategy and executing the activities required to meet the Revenue, Membership and Margin targets set for the National Accounts Segment. This individual will be required to ensure that the talent, structure and capabilities required to win in the market are appropriate. This role operates within the Commercial Segment, across the footprint of PA, DE, WV and NY but is also responsible to identify larger Nationwide market opportunity’s including, but not limited to Second Blue Bid. This role also serves as our lead at the BCBSA level. This role oversees the management of approximately 170 clients that make up $1.9B in revenue and 1.6M in membership, and is also responsible for leading, providing direction and driving new Sales of approximately 70K new members per year. It is very important that the individual in this role has very solid broker/consultant relationships and is open to exploring new/alternative distribution channels in an effort to meet his/her goals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement the market sales strategy.
Ensure that member and profit targets are attained.
Oversee acquisition of new accounts and retain current accounts.
Drive acquisition of ancillary business.
Manage association and broker relationships
Provide incentives for brokers to sell Highmark products.
Explore new and alternative distribution channels for products.
Build the Highmark brand in the market and/or community.
Maintain appropriate mix of products and services.

Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management or Health Care

10 years of progressively responsible Healthcare experience in Sales or supporting Health Plans

State Producer's Licenses in Accident and Health or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

SKILLS
Strong financial skills, strong planning skills, multi-year sales experience, multi-site account experience, sales management experience, broad background in sales, knowledge of general insurance principles, an understanding of indemnity and managed care products
Sales management and operational experience (e.g. claims, membership)
Technical experience in underwriting, care management, and time tracking
Sales and financial aptitude, knowledge of customer needs and market trends
Extensive knowledge of Highmark products including ancillary products
Demonstrated experience in budget management, resources management, planning skills
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills as well as conceptual and analytical skills
The incumbent must take charge of, and accountability for, the planning and development of Regional Accounts strategies while assuring Corporate deadlines and objectives are met
