The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Director, Program Development, Health Science, Resuscitation supporting our National Center office that is located in Dallas, TX. This role can be home based.

 

The National Director, Program Development, Health Science, Resuscitation is responsible for developing and leading the Resuscitation Science function. Responsible working with Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) volunteers to oversee the development of the ECC guidelines and correlating science review for ECC products.

Responsibilities Lead ECC volunteer committees and guideline development process.Lead ECC science review process for product development.Collaborate with staff and volunteers to share information, gather input, and leverage diverse skills for problem-solving and decision-making while fostering constructive relationships and upholding organizational values.Communicate clearly and compellingly across various settings and audiences, adapting style for understanding and maintaining professionalism and cultural competence.Build strong, inclusive partnerships by meeting customer needs, adapting to change, and using empathy and influence to create effective solutions.Set high goals, track progress with metrics, adapt quickly, hold accountability, innovate proactively, and embrace feedback for continuous growth.Demonstrate decisiveness, candor, and accountability by providing timely feedback, taking action, embracing risks, and maintaining a growth mindset. Qualifications PhD, MD, DO, MBBS or clinical equivalent 8 to 12 years of relevant experience

Experience writing and managing clinical guidelines and systematic reviews

Experience with writing and critical appraisal of medical literature 

Experience in product developmentExperience in volunteer managementSkilled in inspiring change and fostering a sense of belonging among volunteers by effectively assessing and leveraging their skill sets, interests, and roles in meaningful waysProficient in building trust, communicating across diverse audiences, and enhancing volunteer engagement through proactive relationship building, training, and succession planningAbility to travel up to 20% and overnight stay

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Training or Emergency MedicineAbility to drive advancement of Health Equity
