Join our movement, be part of the progress, and help ensure a healthier future for all. You matter, and so does the impact you can make with us.
The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a **Policy Analyst, Fellowship** .
The American Heart Association has committed to work in public policy for more than 40 years, translating research into evidence-based public policy that can help people live longer, healthier lives. We want to continue to understand the impact of the legislation and regulation that we work so hard to pass. Our emerging efforts in public policy implementation and outcome evaluation will inform our strategic prioritization and policy development as an advocacy organization and allow us to share a more complete picture of the impact of our work in public policy. We have developed a methodological framework with leading experts that is published and is guiding our work.
This position will help build our work on policy implementation and outcome evaluation, focusing on 2-3 key policy areas, especially around acute systems of care. The analysis will comprise quantitative assessment of available data sets and qualitative interviewing with community or agency leaders to understand how implementation is going (ex. Feasibility, barriers overcome, cost, penetration, acceptability, and unintended consequences). Will also help develop and co-create a policy-relevant research agenda across the American Heart Association's policy portfolio that can be shared with the research community. Will convene leading experts to inform the work, interact with relevant government agencies and manage external relationships that are meaningful for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning. Will manage writing groups and author papers from any analyses for peer-reviewed publication.
