We're proud to share that St. Michael Medical Center was recognized among theBest Hospitals in Washington State by U.S. News & World Report.

In 2020, united in a fierce commitment to deliver the highest quality care and exceptional patient experience, Virginia Mason and CHI Franciscan Health came together as natural partners to build a new health system centered around the patient: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. Our combined system builds upon the scale and expertise of our nearly 300 sites of care, including 11 hospitals and nearly 5,000 physicians and providers. Together, we are empowered to make an even greater impact on the health and well-being of our communities.

As a part of our organization, we currently offer the following benefits:

While you’re busy impacting the healthcare industry, we’ll take care of you with benefits that may include health/dental/vision, FSA, matching retirement plans, paid vacation, adoption assistance, annual bonus eligibility, and more!

Our brand new, state of the art St. Michael Medical Center is one of only four hospitals in our state to achieve Pathway to Excellence designation, which recognizes health care organizations for their commitment to ensuring excellence in the nursing profession.  In Oncology, our patient population typically consists of medical patients, hematology patients (GI Bleeds), oncology patients, and patients receiving chemotherapy, but also patients with pain management issues (sickle cell, hospice patients) and, occasionally, surgical patients.

Our commitment to our Oncology team goes even farther!   Have you always wanted to obtain your ACOS?  OCN?  Or how about your Biochem Therapy/Chemo Provider certification?

St. Michael Medical Center is excited about helping our employees be successful and obtain different certification that will assist them with growing in Oncology as well as in their role caring for our patients!  We are excited to be able to offer the National Certification ACOS. The Commission on Cancer is a program of the American College of Surgeons, which recognizes cancer care programs for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and multidisciplinary patient-centered care. St. Michael Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.  In addition we can provide you with a Biochem Therapy/Chemo Provider course at no charge.  This is to allow you to administer life saving medication to patients.  Another certification important in being an Oncology RN is the OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse).  We can assist you with obtaining your certification with the free pepcourse.  Prerequisite for obtaining this certification is that you must have 2000 hours of experience with adult oncology or relative experience with Oncology patients in the last 4 years before you are able to apply for the course.
