National Sea Logistics Intern

Your Role Join us at Kuehne+Nagel for this exciting growth opportunity to kick-start your career in freight forwarding and logistics. In this 12 month rotational internship, you will get to experience different facets of our business and support multiple leaders in the industry. As our corporate sea logistics intern, you will be responsible for assisting the corporate management team with process improvements, reporting, and big data analytics. You will analyze data sources in order to identify opportunities to support Trade Management, Customer Engagement and Events, and the Systems and Processes Teams in the development and execution of our overall strategy. Your Responsibilities You will provide pricing and rate information as requested to those making inquiries of the Trade team, similar to a rate desk functionResearch and stay informed of market conditions, communicating these conditions and expectations of the future to the Kuehne+Nagel US organization so they are best prepared to deal and communicate with customers and make informed price decisionsTake part and contribute to collaborative meetings discussing topics like carrier strategy, pricing policy, individual carrier deals and customer dealsEnsure contracts are administratively in order and that all terms are agreed between Kuehne+Nagel  and carriers are reflected in the agreements, conditions and requirements are monitored and adhered to according to our SOPAssist in relevant business tasks like Executive Summaries, Business Objects (power BI) reporting, news-updates, and contract reviewsSupport with Customer Engagement and Events – this includes the planning and execution of industry related seminars, administrative support, vendor set up and learning Kuehne+Nagel’s vendor management systems Your Skills and Experiences Completed bachelor's degree in economics, business, supply chain management or related fieldHighly proficient in the Microsoft suite, in particular Excel (PivotTables and VLookups)Experience in Tableau, SAP, Alteryx or similar data management software is beneficialProven ability to organize, prioritize, pay attention to details and set milestones to meet deadlines and achieve results Good Reasons to Join At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Internships are not eligible for our full-time employee benefits. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
