Natural Resources Intern
Overview We are seeking highly-motivated students to join our Natural Resources Discipline in our Houston, TX office during Summer 2025. You will serve as part of a crew that is collecting relevant data during the course of a cultural resources survey. This data includes but is not limited to, presence/absence of cultural material, soil types, textures and colors, stratigraphic profiles, and surrounding conditions. The successful candidate must be able to perform repetitive, manual labor in a variety of conditions. This person will be under the supervision of a crew chief but must be able to follow directions and perform duties independently as necessary. Responsibilities + Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects. + Read and review project drawings and plans. + Operate handheld GPS units. + Identify and measure components of various ecological communities. + Confer with engineers about preparing plans. + Travel our of town for up to two weeks at a time. + Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. + Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office. + In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections. Qualifications + Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline. + ESRI GIS application knowledge is a plus. + Must have reliable transportation to the office. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Possess solid problem-solving skills. + Must be able to work in a high-paced environment. + Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office. + Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
