Nautical Services Manager

This role manages the daily operations of nautical services including launch operations, boat crew scheduling and family service programs. Fosters a sense of ownership on the vessel and pride in the services offered to families and manages costs. Responsible for short-term planning as well as supporting long-term goals while developing a professional and effective staff, and exceeding client family expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management

Works with local and Market leadership to develop annual budget aligned with forecasted production and revenue goalsApproves expenditures and invoices including overtime

Operations

Manages daily activities ensuring on-time servicesAssures operating practices & procedures comply with applicable federal and state regulations and Company policiesEstablishes process goals and priorities.  Presents and communicates strategies, values, and goals to crew.Sets, revises and updates diving and boat operations procedures; trains boat service team; and expedite workflow for scheduling coordinator.  Assigns and monitors work for safe completion and conformance to policies & procedures.Visits current and future customers as needed.Resolves complaints and grievances.Monitors and ensures compliance of license requirements of crew members.  Ensure crews are properly trained on all equipment and procedures.Ensures vessels are up to compliance on required drillsWorks with third party company to ensure all maintenance is up-to-date and compliant with Coast Guard and company standards.Works with third party maintenance to ensure dry-docking of vessels occurs as expected.Uses navigation points and information about facilities, berths and channel check points.Responds to special problems/constraints that affect operations.

People Development

Develops a strong, trusting, and reliable teamDetermines and manages boat crew’s responsibilities, expectations, and accountabilitiesSeeks to understand team members’ career goals and provides assignments to develop skills and/or close gapsMonitors training and licensing requirements, ensuring staff is re-trained/licensed prior to expirationScreens candidates, hires and promotes staff, completes performance reviews, creates developmental plans and completes terminations as needed.Collaborates with Human Resources and Market Leadership for recruiting and retention

Other

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

Associates degree or equivalent from 2 yr college or technical school; OR 5 yrs related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification/License

Valid TWIC & driver’s license required.USCG license preferred.

Experience

Three (3) years’ managerial experience.Two (2) years’ diving experience.Experience with corral reefs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient computer skills to include Word & Excel.Must be courteous and able to remain calmly focused on solutions when problems escalate in multiples.Proper phone etiquette skillsAbility to travel
