Job Description The Company:
I am working with an offshore engineering consultancy who specialise in providing innovative and high-quality solutions for the offshore energy, marine, and infrastructure industries. With a commitment to delivering complex engineering projects with precision, they are seeking a talented and experienced Naval Architect to join their dynamic team.
The Role:
They are looking for an experienced Naval Architect with a strong background in mooring analysis and hydrodynamics. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in using OrcaFlex and will play a key role in conducting detailed engineering analysis and simulations to support the design and assessment of mooring systems and marine structures.
Responsibilities-
Perform mooring analysis and hydrodynamic simulations to assess the performance and integrity of offshore systems. Develop and implement OrcaFlex models to simulate and analyze the behavior of mooring lines, anchors, and floating structures under various environmental conditions. Collaborate with project teams to ensure solutions meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform data analysis and interpret results to provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies. Stay updated with the latest advancements in offshore engineering, hydrodynamics, and mooring technologies. The Person:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in naval architecture and mooring analysis in an offshore engineering or consultancy environment. Expert-level proficiency in OrcaFlex, including model development, analysis, and interpretation of results. Solid understanding of hydrodynamics, marine operations, and mooring systems for offshore installations. Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems with a strong analytical mindset. Experience with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., API, DNV, ISO) related to offshore mooring systems and hydrodynamics. Desirable Skills-
Experience in other marine simulation tools or software. Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for offshore applications.
