Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary
Plans, organizes and leads day to day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities. Responsible for implementing training requirements and monitoring employee performance. Establishes production standards, monitors compliance, and recommends operational improvements. Assist the manager in accomplishing the short- and long-term goals for the department/function. Maintains employee compliance with safety policies and procedures. Insures compliance with applicable government regulations. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree and 5-7 years of experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance group work assignments, inventory, and control of maintenance assets, and provides technical guidance/assistance on all matters relating Navy small craft and lighterage maintenance.Determines sequence and assignment of work on basis of work priority, scheduled milestones, and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and employees.Develops standard work procedures, TSTIs and detailed work instructions for maintenance and inspection processes in an accordance with NAVSEA standards.Performs responsibilities as a competent person in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Standard 1915 for confined/enclosed spaces.Maintains and ensure compliance with ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions, administrative policies, and government regulations.Ensures employees are properly trained in all maintenance functions.Conducts quality control of work to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.Supervises the requisitioning, receipt, and allocation of tools, parts, and material.Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as reward and recognition, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions.Performs other related duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications
AA Degree/or course work towards an AA degree in a related discipline. In lieu of degree, a combination of college credits or other formalized training and education may be considered.Complete U. S. Navy or Coast Guard basic level "A") and advanced level ("C") schools for Boatswain's Mate (BM)Ten (10) years of directly related work experience in corrective and preventative maintenance control and scheduling processes utilizing various computer programs and systems.Eight (8) years of supervisory experience. Possess in-depth working knowledge of Navy Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and Navy deck equipment and sub systems.Must possess the ability to safely utilize ladders; work at elevated heights and confined spaces.Working knowledge of ship or watercraft Main Plant operation, Auxiliary and Hydraulic systems.Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.Have strong written and communication skills.Have intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Access and OMMS-NG.
