NDT Level II (46/hour + 120 Per Diem)
**Job Title: NDT Level II Inspector $46/hour + $120 per diem** **Job Description** We are seeking experienced NDT Level II Inspectors with certifications in PT, VT, and MT methods. Candidates must have documented qualifications and certifications to the Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later. This role requires thorough knowledge of safety protocols and familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry. **Responsibilities** + Perform PT, VT, and MT inspections on structural welds. + Pass written general theory and procedure-specific examinations for applicable methods. + Conduct practical examinations demonstrating ability to operate NDT equipment and analyze results. + Pass visual acuity exams and additional practical examinations administered by Newport News. + Maintain and provide current certification documentation containing training and experience records, examination results, and vision test records. + Perform minor grinding for relevancy checks during MT inspections. + Adhere to safety harness and respirator qualification requirements. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 4 years documented current NDT experience in PT, VT, and MT methods. + Certification to Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later. + Ability to pass written and practical examinations for applicable NDT methods. + Experience with safety harness and respirator qualifications. + Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to distinguish between various colors for MT inspections. + Capability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb vertical ladders, crawl in tanks and confined spaces, and work at heights. + Documented training hours for VT and MT certifications showing Level II proficiency. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team at the largest shipbuilding company in the world. The climate is hot and muggy in the summer and cool in the winter. Candidates must be able to work any shift, with 1st shift running from 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3:30-11pm, and 3rd shift from 11pm-7am.
