Position: NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Instructor

Location: Danville, VA 

Medium size business in the Danville area providing Defense Training and Manufacturing is looking to hire Level II NDT Instructors

The individuals must be capable of teaching a wide range of testing methods, in an accelerated short-term training environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Nondestructive Testing Instructor will include but are not limited to:

o   Delivering instruction

o   Advising students

o   Lab set-up and tear-down

o   Monitoring consumables

o   Supporting curriculum development

·        Curriculums to be taught will include: NDT methods Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual & Optical Testing (VT)

REQUIREMENTS

·        NAVSEA equivalence for NDT certification

o   American Society for Nondestructive Testing Level II (min. one area):

§  Radiographic Testing (RT)

§  Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

§  Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

§  Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

§  Visual & Optical Testing (VT)

·        Experience training and/or teaching in NDT or a related field

·        Experience in submarine industrial base a huge plus

·        Familiarity with NAVSEA Technical Publication for NDT Methods

·        Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and experience with NDT of welds.

Additional Information

-        Onsite Instruction – Initially only 1st shift but Instructors are expected to support all shifts and training needs as the program grows.

-        Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents

-        Individuals needing relocation - Minimal assistance can be provided on case-by-case
