NDT Technician
Job Title: Non-Destructive Technician

Job Description

Level II Technicians/Inspectors will work on various job sites, including refineries, pipelines, and structural construction sites, to inspect and test different materials. They will utilize methods such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT). Technicians must be familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and provide on-the-job training and guidance to assistants and Level I Technicians.

Responsibilities:

- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment

- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods

- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations

- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators

- Organize and report test results

- Perform specialized inspections

- May instruct and supervise others

- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in North Salt Lake, Utah.

Work Environment

Due to projects won statewide, travel for work is required. Job sites are within Utah, and travel time to each site is compensated. Work hours can range from 8-10 hours per day, depending on the job. Typical workweeks are Monday through Friday.
