Position Summary:                                                     

Individual shall have sufficient education, training and experience to ensure qualification and certification in accordance with company and NAS-410 requirement.  Individual shall be able to interpret indications, evaluate discontinuities to applicable standards and report results.  The individual shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and other Level I and Level II personnel.

Essential Functions:                                                   

Consistently assure that parts are properly processed to the applicable Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Method specification throughout the casting and NDT inspection process.Communicate nonconforming product issues to Production, Engineering and Quality.Read and interpret indications and evaluate discontinuities with reference to applicable Quality and/or Customer documents.Set up X-Ray or CT equipment and shoot parts and/or develop techniques.Perform system quality checks specified in the applicable NDT Method Specification.Maintain & troubleshoot X-Ray & CT equipment to meet production and specification/procedural requirements.Organize reports and maintain records of the NDT inspection results.Demonstrate the desire and drive to further knowledge and professional career.Technically and professionally capable of filling in for Level III on a temporary or permanent basis as required.Clean and maintain NDT equipment.Interface with customers and external auditors on a limited basis.Perform daily maintenance of Quality systems, specifically NDT.Comply with all radiation safety guidelines as prescribed by the facility Radiation Safety Officer.Must maintain attendance in good standing and be available to work weekday and weekend overtime.Must be able to successfully pass a yearly visual acuity exam.Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education                                             

Minimum of a High School Diploma. Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred. Level II X-Ray Certification preferred. (Documentation of experience/certification must be provided) Digital Certification Preferred. (Documentation of experience/certification must be provided) Ability to pass required certification test for applicable discipline including NAS 410. ASNT certification preferred in applicable discipline. Ability to obtain and maintain level 2 certifications for both film and digital radiography.
