Level One: Under guidance or supervision of level two or level three Etch operator, level one performs basic Etch tasks such as process parts, document results, and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions. The ability to carry out any necessary preparation of parts before and after inspection. Typically, one plus year of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.Work safely in accordance with plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.Obtain experience under observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method.Correctly interpret work orders.Perform Etch tasks according to Wyman Gordon or customer specific guidance.Perform equipment standardizations and system performance checks.Preparation of parts before and after inspection.Work in a team environment, i.e., follow instructions and assist others as needed.Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly conditionPerform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as requiredPerforms other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructionsThe ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimalsThe ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensionsThe ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack, and fixtures.The ability to obtain certification per NAS410.Meet minimal requirement on Wyman Gordon internal assessmentsUS Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.Experience & Education:

Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment Constant exposure to moderate noise Exposure to hazardous chemical environment Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces. Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.Position will train on first shift and then move to an off shift.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane.Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
