Position Overview:
The NEBB Fume Hood Certified Professional (CP) will be responsible for ensuring the proper performance of laboratory fume hoods, with a focus on protecting users by verifying containment and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience in fume hood performance testing and holds a NEBB Fume Hood Certification.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct performance testing of laboratory fume hoods, ensuring proper exhaust ventilation and containment of hazardous fumes, vapors, and dust. Perform tests such as visual inspection, airflow face velocity measurement, airflow visualization test, tracer gas static test, sash movement effect test, perimeter scan test, and alarm & monitoring systems checks. Ensure compliance with ISO 14644, ASME, NEBB standards, and any specific customer requirements. Manage complex Fume Hood and HEPA projects, working under the supervision of a NEBB Professional. Read blueprints, submittals, and job specifications to accurately prepare reports and interpret test data. Plan and execute testing for HEPA systems, preparing thorough and accurate test reports. Follow all safety procedures, including using the Pre-Task Planning Worksheet to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Required Skills and Experience: NEBB Fume Hood Certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fume hood performance testing. Familiarity with HEPA and Fume Hood Performance Testing systems and standards. Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to implement safe work practices at all times. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and prepare precise test reports.
