Needles Value Stream Leader

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Value Stream Leader (VSL) to be located in Raritan, NJ at Ethicon Inc., a member of the Johnson Johnson Family of Companies. Consideration will be given to alternate locations in any of our 3 needle making plants.

The Needles VSL is a critical position that coordinates the E2E process for wire and needle manufacturing. The position works closely with plant leaders, Global Technical Operations (GTO) and all other VSLs to ensure an overall comprehensive needle strategy. This role serves as the leader of a portfolio of products, projects and processes that impact needle design, capacity and manufacturing technologies. Primary responsibility is to optimize supply chain process performance based upon end-to-end thinking, making conscious-profitable tradeoffs, and overall product ownership. Tasks, duties, and responsibilities are listed below.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a detailed code level, 10 year capacity model in close collaboration with planning, manufacturing, GTO, process excellence and all other functions.Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills and be able to drive a team and senior level stakeholders towards a final decision in an environment with high levels of ambiguity, complexity, and risk. Work across functional boundaries, aligning with partners on a roadmap for change, and interacting with all levels in the organization. Measure supply chain process performance, collect and analyze data, develop new data analysis methods and techniques to provide deep insights. Build new digital analytical capabilities within the wire manufacturing and needle manufacturing flows. Identify opportunities and develop mitigation strategies where proactive structural changes in E2E supply chain design may be necessary to meet future risks and competitive threats. Lead the development and refresh of the Product Strategy Roadmap (PSR) and incorporate the output into the Business Plan, Long Range Financial Plans and Long Range Portfolio Plan. Collaborate with key business partners to identify a broad set of cross-functional needs and build consensus on product, process, and people priorities. Drive prioritization efforts within the value stream’s project portfolio. Build business cases for new Life Cycle Management projects and ensure they meet overall strategic objectives. Direct resources and efforts to make improvements.Member of the WC Supply Chain Leadership Team.

Accountable for:

Owning the analysis, planning, execution, improving, and monitoring of Value Stream performance. Leading a cross functional team to develop strategic plan for the value stream.Setting targets for, and designing the supply chain network to achieve the strategic capacity planDeveloping and securing approval/funding for business cases to support growth.Partner with Commercial and RD teams to optimize the needle portfolio.Facilitating and creating content to advance value stream management maturity.Modeling E2E scenarios and their trade-offs. Providing options and recommendations to senior leaders.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related areas is required. A minimum of 10 years of related work experience in total supply chain or RD function is required. Experience in a regulated industry, preferably MedTech.A deep understanding of how end to end supply chains operate; with familiarity and experience across demand/production planning, sourcing, manufacturing, inventory management, and delivery to customer is required.Direct manufacturing experience in a healthcare manufacturing operation is required.Requires a strong ability to navigate through ambiguity, and ability to think strategically, innovatively, and creatively to drive positive outcomes.Demonstrated results in driving operational excellence across organizations with measurable financial, quality and customer service results required.Strong understanding of the new product introduction process, design control process and process validation in MedTech is requiredThe position requires approximately 25% travel.
