As the Neighborhood Services Specialist you will work on a variety of neighborhood initiatives and programs including neighborhood grants, community outreach and programming, neighborhood planning, and civic engagement programs. In this role, you will work closely with neighborhood associations, community organizations, non-profits, businesses, and government agencies, and serve as a key community contact and resource for neighborhoods. Apply today!Facilitate implementation of the Neighborhood Initiative Grant Programs (NIGP). Coordinate with interdepartmental reviews and site visits with other County subject matter experts, implement program policies and propose amendments, manage the budgeting and financial payment process with applicants and selected vendors, administer the approval process, and serve as the liaison for the Neighborhood Initiative Grant Advisory Committee.Implement and assist in the development of Neighborhood Services programs and initiatives that match County goals, objectives, and policies. Secure speakers, research, and develop content, prepare agendas, process registrations, plan and handle logistics, and conduct post-program evaluations.Coordinate community outreach and engagement projects/events/workshops/neighborhood meetings/classes/webinars for County projects by providing strategic input and advice to other county departments and may include logistical support and attendance as needed. Facilitate special projects with citizens/neighborhood groups and county departments as needed.Assist with community outreach efforts outreach and engagement initiatives for the Neighborhood Planning/ Neighborhood Capital Improvement Program.Coordinate citizen communication through the Neighborhood Services newsletter, web information, and social media through the Planning and Development department’s public notice coordinator and occasionally the Communications department. Contribute to the management of neighborhood contact database, and registrations, and collaborate with other departments on the use of contacts.Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About YouTo thrive in this position, you must have -
An Associate degree in Communications, Environmental Education, Planning, or a related field AND two (2) years of related experience.-OR- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Environmental Science, Planning, or a related field AND one (1) year of related experience.-OR- Related community events/activities planning may substitute for the required education.A valid Florida Drivers license at the time of hire.About Everything ElseStarting Pay Range: $52,936.00 - $54,080.00/ annually, based on experience.
