Job Summary:
Improve reliability and compliance across the enterprise from a high-visibility position. Design, implement, monitor, and support processes, projects, and controls addressing reliability risk management and compliance with NERC Operations & Planning (O&P) Reliability Standards. Assignments will involve working with peers and high-level management within Distribution, Transmission, Power Generation, Nuclear, System Planning & Operations, and the Chief Security Office. Support all aspects of the NERC Standards life cycle and the Corrective Action Program. Develop/maintain metrics and reports. This position will also provide general subject matter expertise for procedures, training, and support within the department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor & ensure implementation of new and revised NERC O&P standards as a NERC Compliance SME including supporting specific business unit GRC execution.
Conduct reportability reviews and assist BUs with self-reports and mitigation plans
Perform routine assessments, spot-checks, and audit preparations.
Develop, implement and maintain NERC O&P Compliance program dashboards, metrics and KPIs.
Provide general BU support (Cross-Functional BU procedure reviews, NERC Standard guidance, training, new build and acquisition integration).
Monitor industry compliance trends, risks, NERC Alerts and communicate lessons learned, and best practices to stakeholders.
Participate in stakeholder engagement activities and industry events.
Support program administration functions for the OpEx Corrective Action Program.
Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field required or equivalent work experience. Desired: Master's Degree.Minimum experience required of the position:
Analyst III: 4+ years of professional experience
Senior Analyst: 6+ years of experience in a related discipline
Senior Lead Analyst: 8+ years of experience a related discipline
Minimum Knowledge & Skills:
Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks
Interpersonal skills to work on cross-functional teams and projects
Problem solving skills to analyze complex issues and identify solutions
Self-Starter/Motivator and independent worker to complete tasks and projects with quick turnaround deadlines
Flexibility to redirect focus when new priorities arise
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of the electric utility industry and NERC Reliability Standards
Knowledge of power plant and transmission operations
Knowledge of electrical power delivery (distribution) systems
Previous experience in a GRC function/role
