Job Description We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to install, configure, and maintain our organization’s LAN, WAN, data communications network, operating systems, and servers. The Network Administrator will be responsible for system monitoring, ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware and network resources, reviewing logs, and completing system backups. Additional duties include analyzing network and server resource consumption, controlling user access, installing and upgrading software, and maintaining software licenses. The candidate will also assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. This role involves managing network performance, maintaining network security, troubleshooting network issues, and training users on network operations. The Network Administrator will frequently report to the Senior Network Engineer and participate in all phases of engineering design reviews. Position Responsibilities Provide Tier II support for iDirect Network and Space Capacity. Address Tier I calls and emails as required. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with remote terminals, iDirect Hubs, and network infrastructure. Escalate network anomalies according to Standard Operating Procedures. Collaboratively resolve escalations from the Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) Helpdesk. Identify and correct remote terminals causing CRC errors and cross-polarization within the network. Conduct monthly checks with satellite providers to ensure hub carriers operate at contracted power levels. Coordinate ASI activities with the RIA Helpdesk. Monitor high-level alarms using iMonitor and respond to automated alerts. Generate and present reports for management. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network administration, preferably within a DoD environment. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or an Associate’s degree with 7+ years of experience). Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Proficiency in network and system troubleshooting, testing documentation development, test procedure execution, and results documentation. Experience with iDirect Operation and Maintenance (iOM) and Advanced iOM software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
