The Network Administrator works closely with the Systems Administrator and the Headquarters IT Help desk to ensure our network is functioning efficiently and is proactive in keeping our environment secure and up to date with the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

Installs and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providersMonitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityDevelops and implements disaster recovery proceduresActs as an escalation resource for IT Help Desk and field system support techniciansResponds to service request tickets that are assignedEstablishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocolsImplement security measures to protect network and data integrityUpgrades network by conferring with the I.T. Operations Manager and vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancementsActs at Network Technical lead on I.T. Infrastructure projectsMaintain and update network documentation and diagramsOn-Call required

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or minimum of 5 years’ experience. 5 years related experience. Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls, routers, and network operations required.
