JOB DESCRIPTION
ResponsibilitiesThe Network Administrator is responsible for the overall performance and availability of the network. He/She will be required to install, configure and maintain organization’s network. He/She must be able not only to test and evaluate the network system to eliminate problems and make improvements, but also recommend upgrades/changes and assess the organization’s current and future network needs.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's networkForecasts and adjusts for peaking loads through the proactive use of network diagnostic and predictive toolsTroubleshoots problems as reported by users and automated network monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the constructions of future servers and other network appliances and transport mediaEstablishes and administers user and group profiles and password management in accordance with departmental policies and directivesDiagnoses and resolves hardware resources to insure maximum system up-time and the highest level of availability possibleResponsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environmentPerforms all other duties as may be required by Management Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems is required with 2-3 years of experience in the field. Equivalent technical training, professional certification and experience will be consideredThe candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networks including AS400, mid-range and PC server operating systems, and associated hardware, peripherals and appliancesCCNA and CCNP are also required within 6 months of hireFamiliarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field is expectedPrimary job functions require a reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsThe candidate must be able to perform a variety of tasks, including lead and direct the work others, with a certain degree of creativity and latitudeMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekendsMust be able to install, configure and maintain the networkWork Environment:
Duties and responsibilities are typically performed at several locations of the casino and hotel areas such as professional office settings, hotel lobbies and rooms, back of house of the casino, and on the casino floor. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, constant exposure to general public, and excessive noise.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
