The Job in a Nutshell:

The Network Administrator II will provide technical expertise to design, install and support networks and systems needed for day-to-day operations. The Network Administrator II will be responsible for installing, maintaining, configuring and documenting all cloud-based and physical firewall, IDS/IPS, routers, switches, wireless controllers, wireless access points, cabling, and troubleshooting any other network related device/system. The Network Administrator II is a lead role that works with the Director of IT Infrastructure to monitor and assist the Network Administrator I, and is the next point of escalation for any issues.

Responsible for the following items:

Assume the responsibility for following all documented policies that the IT Department has in place.Assume the responsibility for perimeter and internal network design, reliability/stability, network security to ensure the appropriate layers of security software and devices are correctly configured, deployed and maintained. This includes, but is not limited to configure, secure and monitor products within the following series:Cisco 4300 series routerCisco 2900/3500/3700 switches (layer 2 and layer 3)Palo Alto Firewalls and Palo Alto Panorama management portalCisco Meraki Wireless Access Point platformMicrosoft Azure based networking services to include firewalls, networks, routers, connections and other network componentsManaging vendor network connections to service providers and Microsoft Azure Manage SDWAN wide area network between offices and stores Cloud hosted proxy serversResponsible for supporting the entire network at Natural Grocers.Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflows, access controls, information and security requirements; designing hardware administration, including interface configurations and routing protocols (dynamic and static)Secure the network by developing network access policies, maintaining network segmentation, monitoring various controls and evaluating all logs and alerts.Ability to review and monitor logs on various systems (servers and network devices), scrutinizing network traffic and devices for any hardware/software/interface issues, evaluating inconsistent adherence to security policies, etc.Analyzes and resolves any alerts (hardware, software, security, etc.).All alerts must be responded to according to the severity level of the alert. Monitoring alerts on the weekend will be required via email, and escalations to various crew members may be needed.Work with the other crew members to conduct audits and ensure network segmentation is in place.Ensure that the network(s) are locked down and segmented.Activate new circuits (convert from a single or bonded-T1 to an ethernet circuit with CenturyLink and remote boots on the ground).Analyze problems and provide technical assistance to solve them. Evaluate and remediate the networking performance issues, including availability, utilization, QoS, throughput and latency.Plan and execute the configuration, installation, testing and maintenance of all network related devices.Contact various vendors and arranges for repair, troubleshooting, updates, etc. for software and hardware related issues within the networking department.Cross train other IT crew member on network related items. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.Support tier 1 and tier 2 related requests for issues in production, testing, and developmentCreating and defining network policies and procedures.Document all aspects of the network, standards and procedures.Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with Company staff (good4u crew, management, etc.). This includes maintaining regular contact with all departments to obtain information and to correct error(s) in the network operations.Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Remediate any PCI/Vulnerability assessments.Analyze and determine if new products/services are safe for the environment based on PCI and SOX compliance standards.Manage projects with internal and external resources, and completes project on time, on budget, and as promised.Support SOX and PCI compliance and internal audit tasks.Understand and abide all change control practices.Provide outstanding customer service and a happy attitude to our employees, stores, and customers. Schedule, maintain, and participate in the on-call rotation, respond to all messages sent by Natural Grocers staff in a timely manner, including off hours and vacations.Some after hours work (post 5:00pm) may and will be required from time to time. The frequency will vary based on the project(s) at hand; however, you will still be required to maintain the computing and network environment, installing/upgrading various systems and monitoring network performance during this time.Complete other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience combinedPossession of a Cisco network administration certificate (i.e. CCNA, CCIE) is requested5 years of experience required:Cisco Administrator for a mid-size enterprise (500+ employees, multiple domains, 20+ locations, 4+ IT team members or larger)administering Cisco centric network environment (router, and switch configurations)administering IDS/IPSadministering and adhering to cyber security best practices5 years experience preferred:administering What’s Up Goldadministering Splunk (or another similar logging tool)3 years experience required:BGP routing experience3 years of designing, configuring and maintaining network components in a Microsoft Azure environment 2 years expereince required:supporting Palo Alto firewall solutions,  VPN, and router/switch configuration, and Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Point controller management1 year of experience preferred managing a SDWAN network Experience configuring tunnels to Zscaler preferred Strong project management and communications skills, consistently hitting deadlines, staying within budgets, and achieving all project deliverablesStrong network troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshootingDedicated to providing outstanding customer service to our employees, stores, and customersScripting experience for task automation preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with hardware maintenance and lifecycleITIL Foundation certification a plusExperience with various frameworks, compliance regulations, and how to secure systems based on them (CIS Controls, NIST, PII/PCI, SOX, etc.)Experience with IT risk assessment frameworks (ie.
