Network Administrator

CIT Network Services provides support for the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN) enabling NIH’s scientific community. The Network Administrator maintains, coordinates, and monitors the use of network systems to ensure high-quality transmission and reliability.
How a Network Administrator will Make an Impact:
Address day-to-day refresh requirements with Team
Configure network devices
Create change requests for refresh maintenance tasks
Update tickets and perform tasks with the SLA’s
Coordinate refresh maintenance tasks with customers and users and provide updates
Perform requirements gathering for refresh maintenance task
Required Experience:
Minimum of three years network refresh support experience
Minimum of three years Rack and Stack equipment
Minimum of three years Perform port mapping and port configurations
Minimum of three years Upload IOS to network devices
Minimum of three years Perform cabling of copper and fiber wiring
Required Technical Skills:
Familiarity with Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst switches, and APC UPS management.
Good understanding of communication technologies (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. Spanning Tree, MPLS, Wireless BGP, OSPF)
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Good understanding of network operating systems (e.g. JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
Expertise in ServiceNow and Change Management Processes
Preferred Skills:
Any related professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, Wireless)
