Responsibilities
Performs as a daily Network Administrator.
Analyzes LAN utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures of classified and unclassified networks.
Operates and maintains the network architecture for both Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) C4IM classification domains.
Tests network systems to ensure current network software products are compatible with system configurations and to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.
Performs function tests of systems components to identify and resolve technical problems, analyze system malfunctions, implement necessary corrective actions, and provide ongoing support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunction.
Performs system backups to ensure expedient restoration of the database for the respective network equipment.
Develops documentation to assist the government with best business practice and standard operating procedures for supported technologies and system deployments.
Performs and maintains security remediation, IAVAs, STIG requirements etc. All IAVAs, STIGs, etc., will be considered high priorities and shall be completed within timelines assigned.
Configures, troubleshoots and analyzes technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, spanning tree protocols e.g.; MSTP, RSTP, 802.1x, 802.11, 802.16, VPN, DMVPN, SDN, VRRP/HSRP, WAN Acceleration, QoS, VoIP, VTC and similar network technologies.
Provides or extends network connectivity within the guidelines of the Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Information Management (C4IM) Services, to a location within Fort Carson RNEC and LNECs.
Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum one (1) year related experience in network administration with demonstrated experience in network management, troubleshooting, network device configuration, operations, maintenance.
Minimum SECRET Clearance Required.
Minimum DOD 8570.01-M IAT II Certified in at least ONE of the following certifications at time of hire:
IAT Level II Certification: Security+CE, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP. Please note IAT Level III Certifications (Also Acceptable): -CASP+ CE, CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED or GCI.
Obtain the following certification within 6 months of hire: -- Juniper Network Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions audio-visual equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. - Frequently bends, kneels and crouches during computer system equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, assembly/ disassembly, installation/de-installation, and sustainment.
May be required to drive vehicle if needed to perform tasks at Fort Carson, CO.
Pay Range
$90,000 to $95,000
