HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER/COMPUTER NETWORK ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support the government organization’s systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.
Manage fact finding, analysis and development of final reports and delivery of presentations related to information technology.
Responsible for designing, leading and managing the delivery of mission critical systems and software products.
Conduct organizational analysis and evaluations to determine functional requirements
Work closely with versatile systems and engineering specialists to prioritize customer requirements, define goals, and refine business objectives.
Coordinates with Systems Architect / Engineers, Security, and Program/Project Management to ensure team alignment on key initiatives and dependencies between groups.
Assist with network / system design and analyze network models
Provide “day-to-day” on-site support customer network, Virtual, and physical server systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologies
Oversee the Installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating procedures
Design network and computer security measures to defend, detect and prevent unauthorized network activity.
May manage and define network device firewall policies, rules and reports to support network defense.
May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Education and Experience: BA/BS + 10 years
Certifications: DoD Approved Baseline 8570 IAT Level III certification is required prior to start date.
Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph prior to starting
Required Technical Skills: Understanding of spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP, VRFs; proficient in Cisco routers, switches, Nexus, and firewalls; proficient with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls; familiar with cloud networking; general troubleshooting skills; physical ability to install new hardware
Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc.
Hands on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts
Experience with SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage implementations
Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments
Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies
Senior level experience with design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers
