Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions Services is seeking a well-qualified Network Communications Analyst to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in Linthicum, MD. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Linthicum, MD campus.

NOTE: There are no remote working opportunities with this position.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assisting in the maintenance of smooth operation of local area, worldwide and virtual private networks (VPN).Assisting in the planning, evaluation, and coordination of installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network(s).Maintaining technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.Applying DISA STIGs or other Hardening Policies to network devices and maintaining their compliance status on a quarterly basis.Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).  If/when necessary, contributing to the preparation of appropriate network documentation, including SOPs and Network Diagrams.Providing regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.May assist with coordinating third-party maintenance for network equipment.May assist in the design of network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.May assist in the planning, management and implementation of network designs in support of customer requirements in collaboration with team.Developing technical solutions to technical problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.Supporting network teams in project designs to clarify project requirements, providing design solutions, in accordance with standards.Performing troubleshooting analysis of network infrastructure and associated systems. When necessary, using network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, SolarWinds, Opnet, etc.) to troubleshoot networking issues.Documenting network hardware and software technology components.Installing and configuring routers, switches and firewalls. (Cisco/Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)Implementing and troubleshooting LAN technologies such as VLANs, Trunking (port tagging), Spanning-tree and other protocols.Providing support to internal customers and troubleshooting network problems.Working under appreciable supervision and/or direction with the goal of becoming independent.Liaising with senior level Network Administrators/Engineers in determining technical objectives of assignments.Assisting with the implementation and troubleshooting of WAN technologies such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and telco circuits (T1, T3, OC3, etc.)Interfacing regularly with customers and managing customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.Managing timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)When necessary, assisting with the configuration of HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and the writing of relevant procedures.On occasion, providing after-hours and weekend support.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree and 4 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of additional education/experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.Candidate Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification (example: Security+ CE) or be willing and able to obtain said certification at own expense within 6-months of hire.  Maintaining said certification will be a condition of continued employment.Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance prior to start.  If selected, a firm start date cannot be established until the investigation is completed, and the clearance is adjudicated successfully or an interim clearance is granted while final adjudication is pending.Must have work experience maintaining LAN & WAN based networks, managing routing protocols on any size environment, and experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls).Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Excel.Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds is required

Preferred Qualifications (Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration):

Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering or other relevant field of study.Cisco CCNA-Security certification, and 6 years of Network design, analysis, and administration of Cisco routers, switches, hubs, and Palo Alto firewallsPrevious experience troubleshooting network procedures and best practices; experience with network challenges associated with systems integration, including COTS integration, capacity analysis and system architecture designFamiliar with network management applications, like Splunk, Panorama, and/or Cisco ISE.Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, SolarWinds, Opnet, etc.)Experience designing and maintaining LAN & WAN based networksExperience with managing routing protocols on LAN environmentsAbility to work after hours, and weekends, as needed

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
