Network Engineer, Lead - IS Infrastructure - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Network Engineer, Lead influences the enhancement of processes, procedures, and workflows for the Information Systems department. Leads strategy development on the enterprise technical environment. Mentors less experienced team members. Leads the team in analyzing issues, identifying root causes, developing, and recommending key work products. Delivers technical solutions for network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN and Wireless. Develops, manages, and tests high availability (disaster recovery) solutions. Drives and directs quality work efforts including the complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration, and administration of internal and external business solutions. Performs complex and often unique work assignments. Advises management on issues. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Keck Medicine of USC.

Essential Duties:

Provides technical direction within the team and across the Information Systems department.Assists peers and mentors less experienced team members through the application and sharing of technical knowledge, guidance, and direction.Synthesizes analysis, identifies root causes, develops, and recommends key work products.Delivers technical solutions for network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN and Wireless. Develops, manages, and tests high availability (disaster recovery) solutions. May lead complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions.Provides insight into management on issues. Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Keck Medicine of USC.Timely and complete resolution of all tickets and service requests assigned.Provide administration for enterprise-wide support, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of Keck Medicine of USC’s infrastructureParticipate in network installs, provision capabilities, and physical infrastructure for network operationsWill work on assigned projects both independently and as part of a team.Provide off-hour on-call support for issues; apply expertise and independent judgment to rapidly restore service.Follow established procedures in the creation of detailed Change Management documentation, and in planning and implementation of modifications to production infrastructure environments.Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Req Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Analysis/Statistics or related fieldIf no Bachelor's degree, must have High School Diploma with additional 4 years of experience.Req 8 years Relevant business and information technology support experienceReq Advanced experience designing, installing, maintaining, and configuring network infrastructure and applications and service providers, such as AT&T.Req Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto hardware, analysis, and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, cable infrastructure, and WAN circuits.Req Demonstrate expert-level experience with LAN/WAN hardware.Req Requires an expert level of analytical ability to find solutions to complex technical or administrative problems, to determine economic feasibility or options available, and to assess the time involved in system changes.Req Thorough documentation skills.Req Must communicate the impact and solutions of application/system problems in business language.Req Requires a professional approach in all situations.Req Must be able to lead teams and resolve conflicts.Req Ability to work any hours to support 24/7 operations.Req Problems must be resolved entirely by completing the work or gathering all the resources needed for ultimate resolution and continuity ofReq problem management.Req Availability to travel between Keck Medicine of USC and other facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pref Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Pref Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)


The annual base salary range for this position is $133,120.00 - $219,648.00.
