As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) networks in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the set up, monitoring, and maintaining of the Enterprise and OT networks while establishing standards and best practices for network structure, stability, and security and plans for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with technical expertise, strong project management skills, and a collaborative, adaptable mindset—all focused on aligning network operations with business needs. This is a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Lombard, IL.

Qualifications Must have bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a closely related field; or 8 years of equivalent experience requiredMust have 8+ years of experience in network administration or operations, with at least 2 years in a project management roleMust have experience with operational technology (OT) networks and IIOTMust have experience with cloud-based network infrastructure (GCP, Azure, AWS)Must have experience with networking technologies (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profinet, CIP, routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, DNS, Cloud Infrastructure, etc.).Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferredIn-depth understanding of network security best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologiesFamiliarity with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Cat Tools, Syslog)Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAble to lift up to 50 LBS independently; without assistanceA proven track record of developing and implementing network design, strategy and plansStrong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersITIL experience and change management required, current ITIL certification a plusTravel is required for about 20% of the time, including international destinations, so the individual must have a valid passportThe candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipmentA valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be requiredLegally authorized to work in the US without sponsorshipMust demonstrate a “can-do” attitude

Compensation Range: $130,000/yr - $170,000/yr
