Job Title: Network Engineer - Palo Alto Specialist
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI Clearance Required
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto Networks to support our Department of State project in Washington, DC.
The Network Engineer will provide advanced network security services, focusing on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Palo Alto Networks systems. This role requires deep expertise in firewall management, network security principles, and hands-on experience with the Panorama Firewall Management platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks security implementations. Utilize the Panorama Firewall Management platform for centralized configuration and monitoring. Provide Tier-III firewall support, including advanced troubleshooting of network security issues. Analyze and optimize routing protocols and network hardware to ensure robust and secure connectivity. Deliver IT services in support of operational needs, including IT system engineering, facility maintenance, and equipment remediation. Conduct research and development for IT systems, including requirements analysis and engineering support for logistical elements. Maintain compliance with Department of State security policies and industry best practices. Collaborate with IT teams to enhance network security posture and implement new solutions.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, OR 10+ years of Tier-III firewall experience. Palo Alto Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification is required. Strong experience with Panorama Firewall Management and Palo Alto Networks products. Deep knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware, and network security principles. Proven experience deploying and maintaining enterprise-level network security solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CISSP) are a plus. Prior experience supporting Department of State or other federal agencies. Strong understanding of federal compliance standards and network security frameworks.
