As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational health of Syngenta's network while getting hands-on experience with technical issues. You will be receiving operational and technical issues related to the network, and will drive resolution through completion. The scope of this role will vary day to day, and you will be expected to troubleshoot issues, engage with service providers when their service is impacting ours, work with stakeholders or site contacts, coordinate with the design and planning team for changes, and perform other related network tasks.

Provide triage, analysis, and resolution of network incidentsEnd-to-end incident management, bringing in additional skilled resources as requiredEngage or defer to other technical teams as required in resolution of incidentsAct as major incident manager (MIM) when incident impact warrants itProvide timely updates to stakeholders or incident manager during incidentsHands on troubleshooting and configuration of networking equipment including Cisco and MerakiParticipate in global on-call rotation, including some weekend requirements (possibly once in 2 months)Leverage network management systems (NMS) to understand issues and pinpoint where the problem likely is and the impact it is causingCollect packet captures as necessary; perform initial diagnosis of output where possibleInterface with local contacts and service providers as needed to resolve site connectivity, hardware, service issues; hold providers accountable to SLAsProactively identify, engage, and act on situations where “things could be better”Continually evaluate network capacity and performance; make recommendations for design changes as appropriateAssist with on-going maintenance of CMDB information and updates of our internal Knowledge BaseFulfillment of DNS/DHCP requests such as A or CNAME record requests, new DHCP scope requests, or updating MX recordsImplementation of changes as defined and requested by design and planning teamCompany Description
