As a Mid-Level Network Engineer, you will be a vital part of our team, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our network infrastructure.  You'll leverage your technical skills and experience to tackle diverse challenges, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of our IT environment.

This position follows a Panama shift, hours are from 6am-6pm.



Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Incident Response:

Utilize industry standard monitoring tools to proactively monitor network performance, availability, and security.Promptly identify, analyze, and respond to network alerts, outages, and performance issues.Perform initial troubleshooting to determine root causes of network incidents.Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers while providing detailed information and potential solutions.Maintain clear and concise incident tickets, documenting troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and follow-up actions.Collaborate with Operations and Security teams, providing updates and technical expertise during incident resolution.

Troubleshooting & Support:

Work closely with senior engineers to ensure the security of the network and its components.Assist in incident response efforts, following established procedures and providing support as directed.Collaborate with LNOs and other teams to ensure smooth implementation of network changes.Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers under the guidance of senior engineers.Assist in resolving network connectivity issues in collaboration with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams.Provide support for LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VoIP, and wireless network infrastructure.

Assist in diagnosing application-related network issues and

collaborate with relevant teams for resolution.

Network Maintenance & Optimization:

Perform routine health checks and maintenance tasks on network devices as directed by senior engineers.Assist with network change implementations following ITIL change management processes.Contribute to documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes.Shadow and assist senior engineers in network performance tuning and capacity planning activities.

Security & Compliance:

Adhere to client and company network security policies and best practices.Support efforts to monitor for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access attempts.Assist senior engineers during network audits, compliance checks, and security incident response activities.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).Security+ Certification  Technical Skills:Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network equipmentStrong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, etc.)In-Depth knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, ACLs)Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plusScripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible) are an advantageSoft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision during night shiftsEffective communication skills for incident documentation and escalationAbility to handle stressful situations and critical outages with a calm approachExperience utilizing ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy etc.)


Desired:

Industry certifications related to data networking (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, etc.)DoD certifications (CISSP, etc.)Experience with DoD network cyber security and DISA STIG requirementsKnowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN)ITIL Foundation CertificationExperience working with DoD customers.

3+ Years working in a NOC/SOC environment

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,700 - $165,300
