The Network Engineer is a member of the Americas Shared Services Networking Team and will be involved in a variety of projects. The ideal and successful candidate will be competent and experienced with networking principles, design, deployment, and support.
Network Engineer duties and responsibilities
Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks Offer best practice advice and recommendations towards overall network architecture and strategy Manage the day-to-day operations of the New Haven Datacenter Divisional SME that provides LAN, WAN, WLAN support to Divisional IT Admins Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installation Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Arrange scheduled upgrades Investigate faults in the network Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases Report network status to key stakeholders
