Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a Network Engineer to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

Palisades Nuclear Power Plant may soon become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the industry and the nation!
The Network Administrator/Engineer responsibilities will include:Collaborating with Sr. Network Engineers/Architects on network optimization and network securityEnforcing existing network security policiesMonitoring the LAN/WAN using enterprise monitoring softwareConfiguring LAN/WAN firewalls, routers, and switches, and wireless access points at multiple sites in the global networkKeeping monitoring software up to date by routers, firewalls, and switches to the monitoring configurationUse of enterprise management software to deploy scripts and automated tasks to network devices including automated configuration backups and configuration changes.Updating firmware on network devices and replacing failed or failing devices as necessaryManaging vendor relationship for equipment, outside monitoring, and Internet carriers.Preparing and maintaining appropriate written documentation for systems, infrastructure, maintenance logs, and procedures.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. In lieu of degree, 6 to 8 years minimum experience will be considered.5 years of practical experience working as Network Administrator (firewalls, routers, switches) Knowledge of Industry Process Management Best Practices (ITIL, ISO/IEC)Experience with Telephony is a huge plus.Technical Skills:Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) or equivalent knowledge and proven work experience.Palo Alto FirewallsKnowledge of Cisco IOS and of Cisco Layer 3 SwitchingVLANs and 802.1q trunkingNetwork management and monitoring software (ManageEngine, Solarwinds)AeroHive Extreme IQ Wireless, Aruba WirelessPoint-to-Point data lines, MPLS, and IPSec TunnelsTelecom – AVAYA phone systems
