Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Madison, WI. Essential Functions: Network Operations: * Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure devices and applications * Ensure all network devices comply with industry best practices and follow internal security policies * Network Engineer will follow published policies for device patching and security vulnerability remediation * Maintain asset inventory of network devices and support contracts * Understand networking protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF * Provide tier one and tier two support * Deep understanding of network security best practices * Manage relationships with service providers, VARs, and software/infrastructure vendors Security: * Adhere to vendor best practices and compliance requirements * Develop an automation strategy for patch and device configuration delivery that meets the credit union defined objectives for operation and security * Understand intrusion prevention and detection systems * Follow established incident response plans and standards * Professionally handle obscene or offensive material Measured Outcomes: * Adhere to internal and external measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness of the technical operations and their impact * Adhere to metrics that demonstrate the adequacy and compliance to company security objectives relative to areas within scope * Supporting a culture of transparency, develop and publish metrics on overall team performance and system effectiveness relative to company objectives and norms
