Job Overview The Network Engineer will be responsible for high-level DDG-1000 Network Platform support, integration, and configuration for all subsystems. The duties will include the planning, documentation and execution of DDG-1000 loads and installs, DDG-1000 Network Design, Design changes, POR integration, ATO, Drawing review and creation, HACSIM creation and RMF support. The Network Engineer will also configure and provide support for all SANs and Microsoft products hosted virtually using ESXi. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for all Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and remediation analysis, reporting, and remediation recommendations. Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000/yr Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Provide server/network break/fix and design support in a fast paced, high-energy environment. Interface with Active-Duty personnel and US Government employees to provide top-notch repair and design support with a focus on United States Navy related networks. Analyze issues in an Enterprise LAN Shipboard Environment to determine the best course of action for resolution. Provide root cause analysis and be comfortable recommending permanent configuration changes when necessary. Work in cooperation with external partners, including consultants, agencies, and vendors, to troubleshoot intra-system issues, and to assist with system integration design solutions. Develop, build, and integrate networking and processing capabilities in virtualized environments utilizing emerging technologies onboard DDG 1000 Class ships. (Up to TS/SCI) Provide network system maintenance and administration support, including software and hardware maintenance; system integration; systems interface support of the systems; routing and switching. templates; Access Control Lists (ACL); Implementation and Assessment of System Ports Protocols and Services (PPS) documents, onboard DDG 1000 Class ships. (Up to TS/SCI) Provide operations support for the networks on DDG 1000 class ships that are within the scope of NMCI Fleet Network Operation Centers, Cloud Networking, Internal Afloat Networks. (Up to TS/SCI) Support the operation and troubleshooting of existing DDG 1000 class network systems, including Root Cause Analysis. (Up to TS/SCI) Support virtualized network operations onboard DDG 1000 Class ships. (Up to TS/SCI) Provide network contingency support, provide technical inputs, participate in network contingency planning, and provide execution support onboard DDG 1000 Class ships. (Up to TS/SCI) Have familiarity with CANES and ISNS shipboard networks. (Up to TS/SCI) Support after business hours or on weekends, in special cases, as needed onboard DDG 1000 Class ships. (Up to TS/SCI) Job Requirements Mandatory: Must be a US citizen. Must have a Secret clearance or higher. Effective oral and written communication skills. Four (4) years of related experience. Security+ certification. IAT II Certification required within six months of the start date. Experience with ISNS or CANES or SCI or CENTRIXS or ADNS or ZOE and all associated installed applications. Experience with Cisco switches and routers. Experience with Window Server 2008/2008R2//2012/2012 R2. Up to 20% CONUS/OCONUS travel. Experience with various SAN manufactures such as Nimble, NetApp, and EMC. Knowledge of switches and routers. Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record upon request.
