Description:  Primary functions include:
- Manage cloud infrastructure.
* Build images to use in cloud.
* Help build rotating infrastructure in the cloud.
* Monitor cloud resources for failures and automate recovery.
* Help manage security of cloud resources.
* Plan for migrations to new instance types and OS versions.
- Help manage build infrastructure.
* Assist and manage building RPMs and repositories.
* Plan for migrations to new platforms.
- Debug problems and outages-
* root-cause-analysis of outages (investigate why processes fail, etc.).
- Manage office infrastructure--
* Perform new user administration.
* Administer office router and vpn connections to outside world.

As for soft skills, the typical soft skills that are required of a consultant: being able to communicate effectively, etc. The culture here is very 'hands-off'. It should be the same for new consultants coming in as long as they prove early on they know their stuff. 

The Customer would prefer a candidate, with perhaps less experience, but that:
- is very smart
- has an open mind about infrastructure
- has a hunger to learn
- is self- motivated

Some keys for the candidate to have are:

- Solid networking skills.
- Solid virtualization experience (not just managing, but understanding the technology).
- Must love to play around with technology and ideally has some sort of lab environment at home.
- An eye for security gaps and an understanding of security technologies (SSL/SSH, etc.).
