Network Engineer
Overview: Job Title: Network Engineer Job Location: Ft Meade, MD Job Responsibilities: + Establishes Network information requirements using analysis of the Network engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN). Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. + Ensures these Network systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the network layers, across the application program interface (API) and the external environment/software application. + Ensures that the network/transport layers of the common operating environment are compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows and network usage, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action. Provides daily supervision and direction to staff. + Develop & ensure efficient application of change, configuration & release management processes. + Ensure that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards, serve as a member of Change Control & Engineering Review Boards. + Conducts inventory/procurement management, technical refresh, software update tracking, version control implementation and standardization across the supported environments. + Ability to write and update technical documents, procedures, TTP, SOPs, etc. Minimum Qualifications: + An active, in-scope US Government issuedSecret/SSBIclearance. + Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required . + A minimum of eight (8) years direct experience, in the last ten years. + Must have a CCNA Cert (Cisco Certified Network Associate) + DoD 8570 IAT II certified (Comptia Security+CE or equalivant) Desired Qualifications: + CCNA Routing and Switching Cert + CCNP Cert + ITIL-Foundations certified Education: + Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, Math). With at least 15 years of general experience of which 12 years is directly related experience, a degree is not required.
