Short Description:  Support the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) Traffic Section staff in the areas of router/switch hardware replacement, maintenance and support, system integration, and support of communication peripherals throughout the State. 
Complete Description:  Duties include:• Testing of hardware, peripherals and associated equipment.• Independent and diligent work practices in completing work in a timely manner.• Proposing new solutions to problem areas. • Monitoring of work tasks, and reporting on statuses of those tasks to management. • Planning and implementing redundancy to future or next generation technologies in ways that meet business needs.    • Perform and configure port-based, protocol-based, and MAC-based VLANs. • Provide switch architecture, configuration, installation, backup/recovery, and monitoring.• Perform diagnostics on switches, Command Line Interface structure.• Responsible for configuring port parameters, layer-2 forwarding, and port load sharing.• Should be able to configure static IP forwarding and IP routing functions. • Provide and perform basic troubleshooting steps for layer-2 and layer-3 networks.   • Updates relevant documentation in supporting the enterprise.• System documentation for troubleshooting, business continuity, and maintenance.
Qualifications:The candidate should have at least 2 years experience in computer hardware implementation, troubleshooting, and support.              • Knowledge of Windows/Linux platform operations, hardware/software functions and capabilities. • Prior experience in estimating and scheduling own work under minimal supervision.• Proven track record of resolving all assigned issues in accordance with established service level agreements. • Prior experience documenting configurations/processes/troubleshooting efforts. • Prior experience working in a fast-paced team environment.
Candidate will be required to travel in the support role throughout the state as required for ITMS site/field visits.
