Network Engineer – VTC Tech

Our work depends on a Network Engineer – VTC Tech joining our team to evolve and maintain network infrastructure for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.
HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements VTC network systems.
• Support NNSA traditional enterprise VTC requirements on in-scope networks.
• Support Video Conferencing Services that provide NNSA End-Users with video conference capabilities. Services include the planning and assessment, implementation, training, and ongoing management necessary to implement Video Conferencing Service.
• Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
• Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.
• Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
• Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
• Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network.
• Support all videoconferencing requirements of the John A Gordon Albuquerque Complex, Nevada Site Office, Sandia Site Office and other supported field offices as identified by the COR.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
• Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills: Network Engineering, Video Teleconferencing Services, End User Support, Troubleshooting/Problem Solving
• Security Clearance Level: DOE Q or TS
• Required Skills and Abilities: Written and Oral Communication, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Organization, Problem Solving,
• Location: Las Vegas, NV
• US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $79,118 - $107,042. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
