Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.
Kwik Trip’s Network Services Department has an opening for a Network Engineer II.
Network Engineer Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for the management and troubleshooting of Kwik Trip’s network. This will include the deployment and support of solutions that solve business challenges. This position will focus on maintaining Kwik Trip campus structured cabling, production network, and data center operations.
Additional responsibilities Include:
Provide escalation point and triage for incidents and alerts for the Network operations center and provide 2nd-level troubleshooting for the Network Infrastructure team and other business units.
Work with Network Architects on configuring and deploying Network Solutions that meet business needs.
Assist and train level 1 engineers and interns.
Create and maintain proper documentation of procedures and processes.
You will be part of cross-departmental training to guarantee proper coverage
Responsible for configuring and deploying the switching and routing environments at retail and campus locations.
You’ll need to have:
Associate degree in Information Systems/Network Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 or more years of relevant network administration experience
Strong technical documentation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet project and department deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of LAN, WAN, and WLAN best practices and procedures for identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of network issues.
Knowledge of best practices and procedures for configuration and performance tuning of routing, switching, and WLAN deployments
Knowledge of Network Security practices and procedures.
Knowledge of Practices and procedures involving the use of protocol analyzers and network sniffing technologies.
Knowledge of wireless 4G/5G environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills
Even better if you have:
Knowledge of Data Center and Core network technologies.
Knowledge of access control systems and Firewalls.
Experience working with manufacturing and automation networks.
Experience with Packet Capture, NetFlow, and other system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with public cloud platform networking.
Any networking certifications.
Experience with structured cabling best practices and procedures.
Experience working in a retail network environment
Any network and security training and/or certification
Experience with Python, PERL, Rest API, JSON and YAML
Knowledge or experience with WIFI site survey software and WIFI analyzers
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours with rotating on-call responsibilities. Weekend and non-business hours work may be required as needed.
