Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fortinet Network Engineer to join our client's team on a contract basis. This position requires an experienced professional with deep expertise in Fortinet solutions, network design, and implementation. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in managing complex network infrastructures, coupled with relevant certifications to demonstrate advanced proficiency. You will be working in an onsite environment collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable network solutions. There may also be some travel required for this position. Key Responsibilities: + Design, implement, and manage secure network solutions, including Fortinet firewalls, switches, and wireless components. + Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet appliances and related network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. + Define and enforce network security policies, including VPN management, intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS), and firewall rule configuration. + Conduct network assessments, audits, and performance tuning to identify and resolve bottlenecks or vulnerabilities. + Assist with integrating Fortinet solutions into existing network environments and optimize configurations. + Collaborate with IT leadership and project teams to develop network architecture and strategies aligned with organizational goals. + Provide advanced support for complex incidents, problem resolution, and root cause analysis. + Prepare detailed network documentation, including architecture diagrams, device configurations, and operating procedures. + Train and mentor junior team members on Fortinet products and network best practices. Requirements Required Qualifications: + Demonstrated expertise in Fortinet technologies, including but not limited to FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiAP. + Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4, 5, or 7 (strong preference for NSE 7 or above). + Extensive hands-on experience with designing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Fortinet security solutions in enterprise environments. + Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and network security frameworks. + Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPsec and SSL) and advanced firewall rule configuration. + Solid understanding of network monitoring tools, best practices, and frameworks (e.g., SNMP, SolarWinds). + Experience implementing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery solutions for critical networks. + Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: + Familiarity with other network vendor solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.) is a plus. + CompTIA Network+, CISSP, or other security certifications are advantageous. + Experience working in industries with strong compliance requirements (e.g., healthcare, finance).
