Job Description:
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Network Engineer to be based out of the Technology & Innovation Center in Grimes, IA. The Network Engineer is responsible for establishing the networking environment maintaining network performance, and enforcing network standards. Hy-Vee is looking for skilled individuals that are passionate about emerging technologies
Responsibilities:
Establish network environments by designing, configuring, documenting, and enforcing network standards.Maximize and maintain the performance of the network.Collaborating with architects and other engineering peers to implement world-class solutions.Maximize network agility through the use of automation.Provide technical guidance and coaching to other Network Admins.Serve as an escalation resource during outages or chronic issues.Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a network administrator, engineer, or similar positions.Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining full Meraki stack networksStrong understanding of networking technologies: Meraki, BGP, VRF, DMVPN, QoS, HSRP, RSTP, WAN Optimization technologies, Load Balancers, Cisco ISE, Cisco Routers\Switches, and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Firewalls.Strong understanding of application layer technologies DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTPS, IPSEC Tunnels, Radius, SSH, etc.Experience with packet-level capture and traffic analysis tools such as Wireshark and/or tcpdump.Experience with scripting & automation skills leveraging bash, Python, or other scripting or programming languages preferred.Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent experienceTeam player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to act as a technical leadPhysical Requirements:
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.Working Conditions:
The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
