Network Engineer

Job Description: We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Network Engineer to be based out of the Technology & Innovation Center in Grimes, IA. The Network Engineer is responsible for establishing the networking environment maintaining network performance, and enforcing network standards. Hy-Vee is looking for skilled individuals that are passionate about emerging technologies Responsibilities: + Establish network environments by designing, configuring, documenting, and enforcing network standards. + Maximize and maintain the performance of the network. + Collaborating with architects and other engineering peers to implement world-class solutions. + Maximize network agility through the use of automation. + Provide technical guidance and coaching to other Network Admins. + Serve as an escalation resource during outages or chronic issues. Qualifications: + 5+ years of experience as a network administrator, engineer, or similar positions. + Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining full Meraki stack networks + Strong understanding of networking technologies: Meraki, BGP, VRF, DMVPN, QoS, HSRP, RSTP, WAN Optimization technologies, Load Balancers, Cisco ISE, Cisco Routers\Switches, and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Firewalls. + Strong understanding of application layer technologies DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTPS, IPSEC Tunnels, Radius, SSH, etc. + Experience with packet-level capture and traffic analysis tools such as Wireshark and/or tcpdump. + Experience with scripting & automation skills leveraging bash, Python, or other scripting or programming languages preferred. + Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent experience + Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to act as a technical lead Physical Requirements: + Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. + Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking. + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions: The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
