Network Engineer

Position Description
ERT is seeking a Network Engineer to support mission operations, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and assistance to implement tech refresh and integration for new subsystems at NOAA's Satellite Operations Facility. Will manage multiple network projects and keep the portfolio aligned with organization needs. Will set maintain and manage staff assignments for the network team that are in line with the business objectives. Will work with the task order managers to ensure effective service delivery to customers. Specific duties include:

Install, maintain, and coordinate the use of (LANWAN)Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and telecommunications equipment. Enforces security procedures, installs network software, and manages network performance.Troubleshoots / resolves complex problems. Implements/ coordinates network policies, procedures, and standards. Trains users.Tests/ implements interface programs, develops security procedures, manages network performance. Troubleshoots / resolves complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical applications.Perform routine tasks and execute procedures to operate and maintain network infrastructure hardware and software.Provide on-call and after-hours support when required.

Required Skills

2 - 4 years of relevant network engineering experienceExpertise across hardware & system supplies by multiple vendorsMust be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to access the applicable government facility/systems.

Education
BS in engineering, computer science, related discipline, or equivalent. 

Work Location
This position is located on-site at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD. Some telework permitted.

Salary
The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $215,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including the location, scope, and associated responsibilities of the specific position, as well as a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
