Network Engineer

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in Tallahassee, Florida. This role will be centered around network systems, including the planning, development, integration, and maintenance of these systems. The Network Engineer will also be tasked with ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and security within our networking environment.
Responsibilities:
• Forecasting, planning and identifying resource requirements for network systems of moderate complexity, including wireless networks.
• Playing a role in the design and development of network architecture and engineering solutions.
• Merging communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling protocols into comprehensive network configurations.
• Deploying and maintaining network systems, such as Palo Alto, Cisco, and VOIP solutions.
• Implementing cloud networking configurations and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Monitoring network performance metrics and preemptively identifying potential issues.
• Developing technical standards, best practices, and interface applications for network operations and documenting these.
• Maintaining documentation for network configurations and system changes.
• Resolving network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
• Managing and maintaining cloud networking environments, ensuring secure and efficient access to cloud services.
• Implementing VOIP systems and ensuring seamless voice communication across the network.
• Integrating security measures, such as firewalls and authentication protocols, into the network infrastructure.
• Identifying, tracking, and resolving potential risks and vulnerabilities within the network environment.
• Utilizing in-depth knowledge of Palo Alto, Cisco, and cloud networking tools to deliver robust solutions.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and certifications to maintain technical proficiency. Requirements • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
• Ability to document technical information for future reference
• Proficiency in operations and planning to ensure smooth network functionality
• Strong design skills to create efficient network solutions
• Capable of troubleshooting network issues independently
• Comprehensive understanding of networks and networking principles
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Ability to generate detailed metric reports to evaluate network performance
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and their integration into existing networks
• Familiarity with industry best practices to ensure optimal network performance
• Experience in configuration management to maintain network stability
• Understanding of compliance functions and ability to ensure compliance with network regulations
• Proficiency in Windows OS and other popular operating systems
• Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field preferred
• Knowledge of computer hardware to troubleshoot network hardware issues
• Understanding of different PC operating systems
• Ability to diagnose and solve complex network problems
• Knowledge of voice over network technologies
• MBA degree is a plus
