Please take this opportunity to join one of GDIT’s fastest long-standing growing programs!  US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team. 

Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning

Collaborates with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of various network appliances and infrastructure hardware for ensuring system availability and reliability.Corresponds with vendors, Internet service providers, and DISA circuit actions officers to design configurations and develop architectural plans to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the US BICES-X enterprise.
 

Acquisition & Deployment

Generates KG, router, and switch configurations for SOCOM Deployable Nodes (SDN) accessing US BICES-X in deployed locationsAnalyzes and implements DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure the security of the network architecture.Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements.Drafts and provides input documentation on new or existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to network administration.Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.

Operational Management

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.Knowledge of Data Center and VirtualizationKnowledge of Automation techniques and structureParticipates in special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of related Network Engineering and Administration experienceMust possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearanceMust have achieved a BA/BS degree or Associate degree plus 11-years directly related experienceMust possess a current Cisco CCNP ENCOR certificationMust meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware featuresHands-on experience working with HAIPE-based encryption devices, such as KG-175 and KG-250/255Knowledge and experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) VoIP/collaboration systemsAbility to configure and troubleshoot MulticastAbility to configure and troubleshoot DMVPN and GRE tunnelsAbility to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of workHighly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGreat attention to detail and presentationResults driven, highly efficient, energetic and highly motivatedThe work is typically performed at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment
 

Must achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to qualify for TESA, the candidate must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, OR an Associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR A major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; 11 years of specialized experience.
