Directly responsible and accountable to the Director of Technology and Operations.  Responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and documentation of the corporate-wide LAN/WAN environments within HHS. This responsibility involves maintaining system backup procedures, and ensuring that all network related hardware and software is maintained and updated with associated documentation.  The Network Engineer I also performs special projects as assigned. 

 

 

 

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

 

 

 
Associate’s degree preferred in Computer Science or related field.
In lieu of degree, 2 years of relevant work experience and equivalent technical/vocational certifications.
Good organizational skills.
Self-motivated with initiative.
Basic knowledge of networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers.
Basic knowledge of server infrastructure and technologies such as server virtualization, Active Directory, SAN networking protocols and cloud usage.
Solid communication skills; effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
Able to build strong work relationship with customers and teammates.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Capable of working in a fast-paced team environment; able to meet strict deadlines.
Possess drive to explore and implement new technologies and improve general technical knowledge is required.
